I wrote the poem in February 2017. I didn't plan to. It just came out, the way the truest things usually do. No title yet, no destination. Just words that needed somewhere to go.
eyes lock
time stops
when you leave
you take the oxygen
from my weak lungs
Those lines sat in a document for nine years. Quietly. Waiting.
